16. Jan 2025.
Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Selaković, met today in Belgrade with Edite Ramos da Costa Ten Jua, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of São Tomé and Príncipe. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the event marking the 60th anniversary of the first Non-Aligned Movement conference.

Selaković expressed readiness to enhance political dialogue with São Tomé and Príncipe and to revive economic cooperation between the two nations.

The minister noted that bilateral relations are traditionally good and free of open issues. The two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation between their foreign ministries.

Selaković thanked his counterpart for São Tomé and Príncipe's support of Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Recalling that young people from São Tomé and Príncipe had studied in Belgrade in the past, Selaković expressed hope that this tradition would be renewed through the "World in Serbia" scholarship program, for which Serbia has quadrupled the number of scholarships.

Ministers Selaković and Ten Jua signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between their Diplomatic Academies.
