General Structure
1 – The MFACC carries out its responsibilities through its central services and external services, under the direct authority of the Minister, in accordance with Article 10 and paragraph 3 of Article 17 of the Organic Law of the Government, approved by Decree-Law 02/2025. It may also create complementary structures to better achieve the objectives set out in the Government’s program.
2 – Within its structure, the MFACC is organized into Central Services, External Services, advisory bodies, and support bodies.
3 – The support bodies include:
- Office of the Minister
- Office for Studies and Planning
4 – The Advisory Bodies include:
- Management Council
- Advisory Council
- Diplomatic Council
5 – The Central Services of the Ministry include:
- Office of the Secretary-General
- National Directorate of State Protocol
- Support Office to the CPLP Presidency
- Diplomatic and Consular Inspection Service
- Directorate for Foreign Policy
- Directorate for International Cooperation
- Directorate for Consular Affairs and Communities
- Administrative and Financial Directorate
6 – The External Services of the Ministry include:
- Embassies
- Permanent and Temporary Missions
- Consular Posts
